Is there a reason this hits 60mph over a second slower than an X5?

Does the engine fit the personality of the vehicle? I’m also wondering why GM doesn’t offer a smaller displacement engine for a base model.

The 0-60 time is a dick measuring sales metric, but still. Caddy needs to force feed that engine for more torque to keep up with the competition. The GLC300 can make a 4-banger work quicker than Caddy can with their extra two cylinders and displacement.
